Colistin Sulfate
Description: Appearance: White or almost white hygroscopic powder.
Odor: Stinkless
Solubility: Freely soluble in water. Slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol. Insoluble in acetone and ether. Stable under PH value 3-7.5.
Usage: Colistin sulphate is an antibiotic of basic polypeptides composed by various amino acids and fatty acids. It has strong antibiotic effect against intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative bacilli. It is used as feed additive and also has some growth promoting effect.
Specification: The potency is not less than 20000 I.U. per milligram, calculated with reference to the dried substance.
Storage: To be stored away from light in a cool and dry place.
